The Chief Constable of Wiltshire is seeking to appoint a new Deputy Chief Constable and applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced senior police officers for this demanding position.
Wiltshire is surrounded by the counties of Berkshire, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Somerset. It covers an area of almost 3,500 sq km, measuring 80 km North to South, and has a growing population of approximately 680,000. Famous for the many prehistoric monuments of international significance, Wiltshire also has Salisbury Plain, which contains many military installations and is the principal training ground for the armed forces.
Whilst Wiltshire is primarily an agricultural economy, the presence of the thriving centre of Swindon in the north of the county marks out Wiltshire’s growing economic diversity. Within Wiltshire we work closely with our partner agencies to improve the quality of service provided and to develop effective policies and practices which embrace our diverse communities.

The appointment will be offered for a fixed term of five years. The salary is £117,690pa plus the allowances applicable to the role.
All applicants must have successfully completed the Senior PNAC and SCC. Overseas applicants must meet the immigration requirements to live and work in the UK.
The appointment will be subject to vetting and medical clearances and to the provisions of the relevant Police Acts, Regulations and Determinations.
