Description of Department:
The City of London police Major crime department has responsibility for the response to the most serious crimes affecting its community and comprises a proactive and reactive capability. The vacancy being recruited to is within the reactive function which would deal with situations from major disasters to homicides and other serious offences.
Purpose of role:
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the team are equipped and trained to respond to the most serious offences and will be expected to lead that team through investigations as senior investigating officer.

The application and interview will be tested under Level 2 of the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework.
