Description of Department:
PSD is at the centre of the Police Service promoting the Standards of Professional Behaviour. We are here to protect the interest of the City of London Police and all those that serve in it. It is essential that we all deliver a high standard of service.
The CoLP PSD is a small team with 2 x DC investigators for complaints and misconduct, directly reporting to the Detective Sergeant for that team. Working closely with the Appropriate Authority we deal with a range of complaints and misconduct matters taking some through to Hearings and Meetings. We also deal with Death and Serious Injury Incidents and liaise with the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

Purpose of the Role:
The successful applicant will be required to manage investigations arising from public complaints or allegations of Misconduct. Ideally, they will have experience of proactive policing and be prepared on occasions to deal with challenging circumstances.

The successful candidate will report directly to a Detective Sergeant within PSD, and will under their direction investigate public complaints and allegations of unethical behaviour.

Types of Qualification(s) needed:
Accredited Detective Constable qualified to PIP Level 2.
Applicants who fail to address the skills/knowledge/experience of the job description will not be considered.
