We have exciting opportunity for former police officers or police staff investigators, PIP1 & PIP2 Accredited to work in Portsmouth initially on 9 month temporary contracts.

This opportunity is open to Investigation Officers that retired within the last five years or have continued to work in investigative position as a civilian since retirement.

Based in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) you will conduct pro-active and reactive investigations into crimes, ensuring evidence is secured and cases are fully investigated.

Role

• Support OICs with obtaining evidential material to support criminal investigations and develop the case files.
• Obtain evidential written statements from victims and witnesses
• Retrieve CCTV material
• View CCTV material
• Retrieve evidential material associated with the investigation such as video footage, receipts, paperwork
• Liaison with other parties to obtain intelligence
• Identify other lines of enquiry to further strengthen investigations
• Assist with conducting suspect interviews under PACE
