The Falkland Islands Government are committed to safeguarding. The Public Protection Officer is integral to ensuring the Royal Falkland Islands Police Force’s (RFIP) capacity to provide a timely safeguarding response for children and vulnerable adults. This role is joint funded and co-located between RFIP and social services. We are looking for a dynamic and committed Public Protection Officer, with rank of at least a Detective Constable, to join the team. THE ROLE This role will be part of a multi-agency safeguarding team and will be based at both the Social Services office and the police station. In this key position you will provide the key public protection response within the multi-agency safeguarding team to ensure an appropriate police response, lawful information sharing and referral to other agencies is provided in order to review and supervise the risk in relation to safeguarding vulnerable individuals. You will also take the lead in offender management. You will also develop and implement continuous improvement, quality assurance and best practice across the Hub to enhance service delivery whilst ensuring all standards are met minimising risk to the Force. THE PERSON We are seeking a dedicated police officer who has specialist knowledge in Public Protection and Safeguarding and who can take the lead in both the development and provision of services relating to protecting the public. The Package In return for this unique opportunity there is a basic salary starting at £25,497per annum (£31,871.25 equivalent Inc. 25% gratuity on completion of contract). Starting salary is dependent on previous experience. In addition, the post also attracts an CID on-call allowance, which is in addition to the salary. Government Housing is available to rent. Any over time worked is currently at 1.5 x standard hourly rate. A taxable 25% gratuity of gross salary is payable upon successful completion of your 2 - 4 year contract. 30 days annual leave, flights, and a relocation package are included, along with a favourable tax regime and an excellent education provision for young people.
