ICT Support Engineer
The Policing Vision 2025 states that, “By 2025 digital policing will make it easier and more consistent for the public to make digital contact, improve our use of digital intelligence and evidence and ensure we can transfer all material in a digital format to the criminal justice system.”
At Cleveland Police we are committed to providing the information technology needed to deliver the vision, from investigations, to supporting the public, and interacting with the Justice sector and other agency partners. A variety of digital channels will allow the public to communicate with us in new ways, to report crime and to carry out routine transactions.
To support this vision we are inviting applications for an exciting opportunity to work for Cleveland Police as a Support Engineer. If you are committed to providing excellent service delivery, recognising the importance of best practice frameworks you will be suited to this role. You will work primarily as second line support, responding to a wide range of issues escalated from the Service Desk for the further investigation required to understand and resolve in a timely manner.
You will be educated to HNC or degree level, or possess equivalent ICT experience. An understanding of the ITIL principles and standards for Service Delivery and Support is required also. Prioritising tasks and working to completing deadlines is a key area for this role, so you will be experienced in managing a demanding workload. Postholders will need to be methodical in their approach, analysing information and making effective decisions to resolve incidents and achieve best outcomes.
