Working closely with our Anti-Social Behaviour, Emergency Planning & Business Continuity, and Public Health colleagues, as Anti-Social Behaviour & Community Safety Co-ordinator you will co-ordinate activity aimed at preventing and reducing anti-social behaviour and crime and disorder and improving community safety. You will support the work of the Safer Devon Partnership and the East and Mid Devon Community Safety Partnership, liaising with various agencies and colleagues across the Council to assist in the delivery of the community safety strategy and identify and interpret relevant crime and disorder data to inform the Council’s priorities in this field. This will involve developing and supporting local action groups, producing reports, promoting activities and identifying funding opportunities to support this work. You will also work on tackling individual cases of antisocial behaviour. This post is politically restricted. About you With a detailed knowledge of the legislation and professional practice around anti-social behaviour and community safety, you will have a track record of quickly building rapport with all those you interact with and effectively communicating complex information. You will also need to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and database systems, methodical and organised. With excellent time management skills you will be able to co-ordinate several projects simultaneously whilst focussing on deadlines and delivery. An understanding of the way in which Community Safety Partner organisations / partnerships operate would be a distinct advantage, as would previous experience of developing and delivering relevant awareness interventions and identify funding opportunities.
