Middlesex University is the lead provider in a national consortium of Higher Education Institutions delivering the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) to Sussex and Surrey Police, and Hampshire Constabulary. As part of the continued development and expansion of our programmes, we are looking to appoint an Apprenticeship End Point Assessor either as full time (1fte) or part-time (fractional 0.6fte/ 0.4fte) appointments. We welcome applications from candidates with knowledge of operational policing, who are educated to degree level and who have experience as an assessor to join an established team in the Department of Criminology and Sociology at Middlesex University. One of the world’s longest-established Criminology Departments, it provides high quality undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral education, complemented by a successful applied criminology research profile. Taking a critical approach to learning and teaching, we aim to empower students to be agents of change in society. The role of an Apprenticeship End-Point Assessor is to provide independent, fair, reliable and consistent grading decisions, working within apprenticeship standards. It requires someone who can work independently and virtually, who can act with integrity and impartiality, and is flexible in their approach.
