We are currently recruiting on behalf of a local Police Force for an experienced Legacy & Archive Officer to work on a full-time, long-term contract based in Warrington, Cheshire. Job Purpose: To provide appropriate support to the Home Office and other organisations during legacy and archive related work. To lead discrete internal and inter-agency teams if required. To deliver information management audits for appraisal, selection and sensitivity reviews, and other monitoring. To deal with complaints/appeals relating to data that is held by Operation Resolve and related integrity matters. To ensure that data is dealt with in compliance with relevant legislation and protocols. To develop and maintain Information Sharing Agreements with partner agencies. To develop, deliver and implement information and records management standards. To prepare data and material held by Operation Resolve for the National Archive in accordance with legislation and protocols. To undertake tasks, as necessary, to facilitate the closure of Operation Resolve. To consider legal challenges to reports and produce documents for use at judicial hearings Main Duties:
Essential Requirements: Approachable and diplomatic and remain calm in a busy and demanding environment.
Extensive experience of computer systems and Standard software packages relevant to Operation Resolve with a good working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases. Demonstrable experience in developing and writing procedures, reports and working practices. Previous experience demonstrating research and/or analytical skills (could be part of a degree course). Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of customer care and quality of service. Demonstrates extensive understanding of Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act, Computer Misuse Act, CPIA, MOPI, Public Records Act and Information Security. Demonstrates good working knowledge of the principles of records management. Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle for business purposes. If applicable to current role, must be rated overall as competent in last annual Appraisal/Individual Achievement Review. Willingness to work outside normal office hours when necessary. This is a designated post under the Operation’s Vetting Strategy and the post will therefore attract an enhanced level of vetting
